The engineering forum group sought alternatives to hard surfaces like vinyl tile that can require buffing, burnishing, waxes and wet cleaning.
The challenge was to design a floor that could be used 24/7 without shutdowns for maintenance, while meeting the highest current ESD standards.

The Facts
Like other StaticSmart ESD Carpet Products, the SMT line is over-designed with redundant conductivity to safely and effectively remove static charges. Constructed with the unique StaticSmart FibreLink design, our SMT esd carpet tile has conductive fiber in every tuft. Charges are ionized at the surface and conducted through the patented adhesive system directly to ground, to safely and quickly eliminate static charges.
